Behind-The-Scenes: ThriveCart Summit Attendee Dashboard
Apr 04, 2025
One of my biggest pet peeves when attending virtual events is a complicated login process.
Whether it’s a summit, course, or membership, if it takes more than a few clicks to get where I need to go, I get frustrated—and I know I’m not the only one.
Let's tie that into virtual events!
When someone signs up for your event, that very first login moment matters. If it’s confusing, slow, or clunky, it sets the wrong tone right from the beginning. And in the world of virtual summits, first impressions are everything.
That’s why I made it a top priority to build a clean, simple, no-fuss login experience for attendees of Teach Me How to Summit—and I think we nailed it, thanks to ThriveCart.
In this post, I’m walking you through how I customized the attendee dashboard inside ThriveCart Learn+ to create a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment someone signs in.
Why the Login Experience Matters
It doesn’t matter how good your content is—if your attendees feel lost or overwhelmed trying to access it, they may never even get to it. For me, creating a thoughtful login space is about more than just function. It’s about setting the stage for the event experience.
I wanted the first thing attendees saw to feel:
- Organized and easy to navigate
- Aligned with the event branding
- Helpful, clear, and immediately useful
How I Customized Our Login Area
I built the entire content hub for the summit inside ThriveCart Learn+, which made customization easy and straightforward. I don’t host other products in ThriveCart, which gave me a lot of flexibility to design a summit-only space.
But even if you do use ThriveCart Learn+ for other offers, this kind of experience is still possible with some smart restructuring.
Here are a few things I focused on while customizing the attendee dashboard.
1. A Clean, On-Brand Layout
The dashboard layout is designed to match the rest of the summit experience.
That includes:
- A custom event-themed banner at the top
- A matching event branding from top to bottom
- A clean and uncluttered design with no unrelated content
When attendees log in, they aren’t bombarded with a bunch of extra products or confusing links. They see one clearly organized space focused on this event.
2. Helpful Info Right Up Front
I didn’t want attendees hunting around for details or wondering where to go next.
That’s why the dashboard includes:
- The summit dates are displayed and highlighted
- A quick welcome video to help orient new users
- A simple breakdown of what’s included with each ticket type
- A help section with FAQs and a form to submit a help desk ticket
- An ad to promote our special ThriveCart promo available during the event
It’s all right there, ready to go from the moment they log in.
3. Easy Navigation to Content
Once inside their ticket, attendees have what I guess you could call “easy access tiles.” These are visual buttons that take attendees straight to their content based on the ticket they purchased.
We placed these in a sidebar that's repeated throughout the 'course' setup to keep things seamless.
We added buttons for:
- Meet your host
- Meet your sponsor
- Day 1 Speakers
- Day 2 Speakers
- Attendee Survey
- Submitting Q&As
and a few others!
No digging, no dropdowns—just click your ticket, and you’re in.
4. Built-In Engagement and Support Tools
Since this event includes a live Q&A session on Day 3, I added a dedicated section for attendees to submit questions in advance.
There’s also a built-in FAQ section and a clearly labeled Event Support Desk, so help is always just one click away if anyone gets stuck.
5. Partner Integration and Recognition
This summit is powered by ThriveCart, so I made sure to include a quick sponsor shoutout within the dashboard. It’s a nice touch that gives credit to the tools making it all happen and reinforces the professionalism of the platform.
What Attendees Are Saying
We've only had registration open for about a week, but so far the feedback has been great!
Not only did we get some great first impression feedback from attendees, but we got some praises from our speakers who enjoyed the extra effort we put into creating a really fun experience for even a 99% pre-recorded summit!
And for me, that’s the best sign that the effort I put into customizing this experience was worth it.
