Amplify Your Virtual Summit With Audio in Podcast Feeds

Podcasts offer a unique opportunity to enhance your virtual summit experience. By strategically integrating podcasts into your event planning, you can create a more engaging, accessible, and impactful experience for your attendees.

4 Ways To Use Podcasts In Your Virtual Summit

In this blog post, we'll explore how you can leverage the power of podcasts to elevate your virtual summit. We'll cover specific strategies, including pre-event podcasts to build anticipation, post-event podcasts to extend the impact, quick content formats for busy audiences, and full audio feeds for flexible consumption.

By the end of this post, you'll have a clear understanding of how to incorporate podcasts into your virtual summit strategy to enhance attendee engagement and maximize the value of your event.

1. Pre-Event Podcast: Building Anticipation and Setting the Stage

A pre-event podcast is an excellent way to build anticipation and excitement for your virtual summit. By interviewing your speakers, you can offer exclusive insights into their expertise and the topics they will be covering during the event.

We offered a pre-event podcast for our event called, Teach Me How To Summit, where selected speakers were interviewed about the past events they had produced and how they went. It was well received and gave the audience something to look forward to as well as something to consume immediately after registering.

You can easily use a pre-event podcast as a teaser, giving attendees a taste of what to expect or just a way to keep their excitement up leading up tot he live event.

Key Benefits of a Pre-Event Podcast:

  • Builds anticipation: Creates excitement and generates buzz around your summit.
  • Introduces speakers: Gives attendees a chance to get to know the speakers personally.
  • Provides valuable insights: Offers early access to expert knowledge and advice.

2. Post-Event Podcast: Extending the Impact

On the flip side, you can use a post-event podcast to keep the conversation going after the live event has ended.

A post-event podcast can help you extend the impact of your virtual summit. By recapping key takeaways, sharing additional insights, and answering questions from the audience, you can keep the conversation going and reinforce the learning experience.

Key Benefits of a Post-Event Podcast:

  • Reinforce key takeaways: Summarize the main points and highlight the most important lessons.
  • Answers questions: Addresses any unanswered questions from the audience.
  • Shares additional insights: Provides extra value and deepens the learning experience.
  • Maintains community engagement: Keeps the conversation going and fosters a sense of community.

3. Quick Content: Key Takeaways and Fast Insights

To cater to attendees with limited time, consider offering a quick content audio feed.

These clips can provide concise summaries of your virtual summit sessions, highlight key takeaways, pinpoint fast insights, and offer actionable tips from your summit speakers.

I personally love this idea, as many people are so limited on time to attend full events, these days, even if they really do need the content. If you had a podcast feed of quick content, like the cliff notes version of your summit, that they could opt into and listen to whenever and wherever they wanted, you're increasing the number of people you reach and help with the event... which is pretty amazing!

This is a new strategy I came up with while chatting through questions in one of of recent Summit Club meetings. We'll be trying this for the first time in our 2025 events.

Key Benefits of Quick Content Podcast Feed:

  •  Accommodates busy schedules: Provides a convenient way for attendees to consume content on the go.
  •  Enhances learning experience: Offers a quick and easy way to review key points.
  •  Increases engagement: Encourages repeated listening and sharing.

4. Full Audio Feed: A Comprehensive Listening Experience

For attendees who prefer to consume content in audio format, consider offering a full audio feed of the entire virtual summit. This can be particularly valuable for those who want to listen to the sessions while multitasking or for those who have visual impairments.

You can offer a separate feed for your FREE and your PAID ticket holders to make sure their podcast access matches their ticket access.

🚨We use HelloAudio for these feeds, which is so amazing because all you need to do is import your videos and schedule them. HelloAudio turns them into an audio-only file for you and even offers transcripts if that's something you don't already have.

Key Benefits of a Full Audio Feed:

  •  Accessibility: Makes the summit content accessible to a wider audience.
  •  Flexibility: Allows attendees to consume content on their terms.
  •  Enhanced engagement: Provides a different way to experience the summit.

By strategically integrating podcasts into your virtual summit, you can create a more engaging, accessible, and impactful experience for your attendees.

From pre-event anticipation to post-event reflection, podcasts offer a versatile tool to enhance your summit's reach and value. So, the next time you're planning a virtual summit, consider incorporating podcasts to elevate your event and leave a lasting impression on your audience.
