Your Free Virtual Summit Tickets Are Important To Your Attendees
Dec 19, 2022Most virtual summits offer a free ticket to anyone who signs up to attend. I suggest you create a free event model as they are a great place to start and still offer big benefits to the organizer.
The way you setup your free ticket is up to you.
Many people offer a free viewing period where attendees have a limited amount of time to view the video sessions and replays, such as 24 hours. I tend to offer a free live viewing structure more similar to if you were attending an event in person.
For my events, attendees can register to attend live for free. This means they can watch anything on the schedule during the time its being premiered. So if there is a talk from 9am - 10am, you can watch it for free during that time without the need to purchase an all-access pass.
How Do Free Virtual Summit Tickets Work
Your free ticket is the entry way to your event. When people land on your registration page, they will make a decision to enter their email address to attend your event with a free ticket or they will leave.
If they register you will now have their email list and they will have a free ticket to your summit which could ultimately mean a few different things depending on how you set it up.
If you're like me, they can attend your entire event, including all sessions, as scheduled. They show up live and watch/participate in video chats and if they want additional time to view the session replays- they will need to upgrade.
But maybe you also decided to provide access to your videos as part of your free ticket for a short period of say 24-48 hours. This will allow people who cannot attend your live event to watch later on and catch up on anything they've missed.
Popular Free Virtual Summit Inclusions
These are the very basic free tickets you'll see for many virtual summits, but you can also include additional perks like:
- An event program or binder to provide contact information for all speakers and sponsors as well as direct links to the event schedule, sessions, and event Facebook group.
- Blank note pages for each session to allow attendees to take notes and track their favorite speakers
- A virtual swag bag full of freebies as offered by your speakers.
- Access to event door prizes and giveaways.
- An event Facebook group where attendees can gather.
There are many options for free tickets and you'll need to decide what yours will entail. If you have our Summit Host Planner- now is the perfect time to fill in the pages about creating your free virtual summit tickets.
